Food Security

Nutrition is essential for a student’s ability to concentrate and excel in class; a common flaw is failing to acknowledge how food and nutrition is a basic need that isn’t being adequately provided to all students who need it. Whether you need long-term assistance or short-term assistance, below are reliable organizations who provide nutritious food including meats, fruits, vegetables, and more--for every family deserves sufficient and full meals.

Gives recipients two weeks' worth of food (and diapers if needed). If transportation is an issue, the Food Bank also offers drop-offs to any location you stay in via their Groceries to Go program. The Food Bank also distributes free or low-cost resources including clothing, power packs (nutritious food for children), school supplies, dental care, and holiday gift cards.

Provides free groceries to families in South King County or the Eastside, including Issaquah, Bellevue, Newcastle, Maple Valley, Renton, Sammamish, and more. Fill out the form within the first two weeks of the month to ensure the organization can keep up with demands.

Holds operating food banks at each location, ensuring enough food for at least 21 meals. The closest locations within the Issaquah School District are located in Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond.

Centers around providing families and individuals with healthy foods including fresh produce, meats and chicken, pasta, healthy snacks, and more. Drive through at Rainier Beach High School for pick-up bags (any student and family from any Zip Code are eligible), or attend the SOS Shopping Event for homeless communities for food, hygiene supplies, socks, and cleaning supplies. Email or contact the organization in case if you need transportation or require at-home delivery.
