The Internet is not only essential during online learning but throughout our student experience. Whether it's connecting online to class homework, emailing staff and teachers, or self-educating on important topics to learn outside of school, it’s imperative for this resource to be within our reach. If cost is an issue, below are low-cost or free WIFI programs for your home use. ​
Comcast/xfinity offers low-cost internet at $9.95 per month. The program guarantees no activation or rental fees. Free at-home delivery is provided, and you’d also have the ability to purchase a low-cost computer. If your family needs assistance in learning more about how to navigate wifi, Xfinity also offers free introductory training for assistance. Check here for eligibility, though even if not eligible, Comcast does offer other programs for your assistance here.
Low-cost internet hotspots ($60-$80), low-cost desktop computers AND low-cost laptops. Staff from PC’s for People is also available via phone to answer questions and be guided in navigating technology. Prices for laptops or desktop computers range from being free to low-cost. If you find that none of these resources is an option, feel free to check out a hotspot and/or a laptop from the Issaquah School District. You should be able to request a check-out over the summer as well. This resource is not only exclusive to COVID-19 and online learning, thus if at any point in your schooling career you find a need for a hotspot or laptop, go to your school website and request a check-out.*
