Mental Health & Illness

Affinity Group

The Mental Health & Illness Affinity Group combats the stigma around mental health, illnesses, disorders, and disabilities as purveyed by students and staff in the Issaquah School District and to advocate for policies that ensure students with mental illness are accommodated and supported.

Physical & Cognitive Disabilities

This group currently operates as a project nested under the Mental Health & Illness affinity group, however when enough applicants are accepted onto the Physical & Cognitive Disabilities affinity group, it will resume work independently!

Our Projects

504 Plan Resources

The 504 Plan Resources Project intends to expand awareness of the 504 Plan resources that are available to them if applicable and hold staff members accountable for actively complying with the accommodations 504 Plans offer to students. Our action items will involve outreach to the student body to destigmatize 504s/IEPs and present information on the process of obtaining them, as well as meeting with the Student Interventions Department to amplify students’ unmet 504/IEP needs and push their efforts in addressing and reforming these issues.
