Mental Health Support Resources

Mental health support for anyone—but especially those who are low-income or experiencing homelessness—is inaccessible due to cost or reliability. Many free programs are only short-term or come with many terms and conditions that don’t provide long-term support for someone who needs mental health support. The resources below offer long-term programs for low-income and physically displaced people.

SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS

School-based mental health counselors provide mental health aid such as presentations, apps, or mental health counselors. Contact your counselor for a referral to a professional Swedish Hospital mental health counselor. After a short referral process, you’ll be able to meet with them weekly for an hour a day.

Garage Teen Cafe provides free mental health counselors! Book an appointment with a mental health counselor at the Garage Teen Cafe, available to any youth; be sure to reserve a slot with a counselor first!

Circles Modern Health provides free group mental health conferences discussing a variety of mental health subjects led by therapists. Learn how to cope, heal, and grow in mental health by attending these one-hour-long sessions.

The National Alliance for Mental Health in Seattle offers a variety of support groups for those who struggle with mental health, including BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and many more. NAMI also offers referrals for free individualized counseling.
